Hands down the best Fish and Chips in the harbor area. I've been looking for a long time for decent fish and chips spot since Hamilton's favorite, Hutch's has declined in quality.

The Sea Shanty has a lot to offer from its friendly staff to its on the nose harbor-front cuisine. Served by a lovely mother daughter duo, The Sea Shanty's staff serves you with a smile and ensures you get the best service available. The restaurant's decor was a little questionable with a replica of William Wallace's sword from Braveheart hanging on the wall next to the titular character's poster, but the food and service more than made up for Mel Gibson's judging eyes watching me eat.

My dining companion this time was my younger brother and he ordered the halibut with chips. I went with the more robust Fisherman's Dinner which consisted of haddock, scallops, shrimp and chips with mushy peas on the side.

Before I tell you about this food, let me preface this by telling you that I usually don't care for mushy peas and I have always thought fish and chips were supposed to be greasy.

When our meals came out, it was surprising to see our plates overflowing with golden brown temptations. The portions were generous. Not in the chain family restaurant way where it looks like enough food to choke a thorough bred racer, but in the you know you'll be full when you finish your plate just by looking at it way. My brother had two nice pieces of fish, and fried potatoes. I got a platter with a nice piece of fish, a few scallops and four shrimps followed by a small bowl of mushy peas.

Biting into the fish, I quickly realized it was mostly fish. There was a nice crispy batter, but the fish wasn't lost in it. This was the first time I had fish and chips without sawing away at batter and discarding it first. Then I tried the shrimp. Breaded perfectly and cooked without it being rubbery. It was a nicely fried shrimp. I then had the scallops. There was quite a bit of batter on the scallops, but that's the nature of the beast. They still tasted great. Next came the chips. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Wonderful. I followed these bites with mushy peas. As I said, not a big fan of mushy peas, I only tend to order them with fried fish, but they were excellent as well.

My brother had nothing less to say about his meal. It was fantastic all around. I'm definitely going back and all of you should try it.

My boyfriend introduced me to this place last month and it instantly became my new favourite! Today we went again for the Tuesday haddock & chips special for $9.50 and it definitely hit the spot. The batter is so light and thin and perfectly crispy, and the fish is also cooked to perfection. On top, we both ordered a side of their freshly made coleslaw, and let me tell you it was the best coleslaw I've ever had.....and I don't even like coleslaw! It is a family run business which makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The owners are all very friendly and cheery, and they have fast service. My boyfriend & I decided we will take advantage of the Tuesday special and make it a weekly routine!

Definitely a hidden gem in the city.

I recommend to anyone and everyone that wants quality fish & chips for a decent price (especially on Tuesdays)

This is a great little find with the crispiest light battered fish and chips!  My mom and I came for dinner for the first time tonight and we both loved it.  I had the haddock and chips ($9.50 on Tuesday) and a side of delicious mushy peas.  Fabulous with a cold beer!!

Visiting the area from the US, went on Yelpcand saw the great reviews...and everyone was right. Had a great meal of Halibut, shrimp and scallops...excellent. Coleslaw was amazing. If you live in the area, you need to try it. Local business, with a very friendly owner. Thanks for a great dinner!

This place is AMAZING. My mom has been calling talking to me about fish & chips for months before she finally came to visit and found this quaint spot. We had no expectations coming in as we found it via GPS since the place she knew of shut down.

The lady informed us it was a family run business that she took over 20some years ago and is the oldest fish&chips spot in Burlington. She was so cheery and lovely to talk to and had such a kind, down to earth personality that matched the decoration of the place. Think: Irish, plaid, and swords.

The actual fish was cooked to perfection, the batter was not overwhelming and complimented the fish just right. Thick cut fries from a package but still tasty.

5/5 would come over and over and DEFINITELY recommend.
